We have recently begun collecting signatures on the Columbia Peace Coalition's signature ad. The text calls for an End to the Iraq War, No War with Iran, and an End to the Nuclear Threat. We will be running this on Hiroshima Day, August 6, 2007. While we just started on Memorial Day, in a week and a half we have collected near 1,000 names. We hope to make this our largest signature ad ever.
We would like to urge you to put your name on the statement, and also hope that you might help collect the names of others.
** If you are active with a house of worship, please see if you can arrange times to collect signatures there, perhaps at the conclusion of a worship service.
** Please consider collecting names of friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. If you are going to an event that will draw a crowd, please consider taking signature forms and collecting names.
** Please consider volunteering to join our organized effort to collect names at events including Twilight Fest and other public events.
Note that donations are optional, but are needed to pay for the ad(s), which are likely to cost several thousand dollars. Please do what you can to collect donations w/o letting this become an obstacle to folks signing if they are not inclined to, or able to, contribute financially.
To print out a signature form, please click on the orange "Signature Ad for Peace" box to the left. You will find that there are two options, one for 8.5 X 14 and one for 8.5 X 11 paper. If you have the legal paper, we suggest printing it on this, as the longer form has more lines for signatures and is in a slightly bigger (more readable) font. Either, however, are fine.
